The XF40H and XF35H are the same retro handheld in two sizes: a 4-inch model for a bigger screen and a 3.5-inch model for an ultra-compact carry. Both come with up to 22,000 classic games preloaded, a 4000mAh battery, and dual analog sticks, so you can power on and start playing right away. Here's a full look at what each version includes and who it's best for.
XF40H and XF35H at a glance
- Screen: 4-inch IPS (XF40H) or 3.5-inch IPS (XF35H)
- Battery: 4000mAh, charged over USB Type-C
- Storage: 64GB or 128GB
- Games: 18,000 preloaded on the 64GB version, 22,000 on the 128GB version
- Controls: Dual analog sticks and shoulder buttons
- Systems: NES, SNES, Game Boy Advance, Sega Genesis, PS1, arcade and more
- Extras: USB Type-C port doubles as an external controller interface
Two sizes, one game library
The only real choice is how big you want the screen. The 4-inch XF40H gives you more room for sprite art and menus, while the 3.5-inch XF35H slips into a pocket more easily. Both use an IPS panel, so colors stay vivid and readable from an angle. Not sure which size suits you? Our guide on how to choose a screen size for retro gaming walks through the trade-offs.
| Model | Screen | Colors | 64GB (18,000 games) | 128GB (22,000 games) |

| XF35H | 3.5" | Black, Purple, White, Blue, Red | $62.99 | $66.99 |
A huge library, ready out of the box
There's nothing to download and no cartridges to buy. NES classics, SNES RPGs, Game Boy Advance titles, Sega Genesis, PS1 and arcade games are all preloaded and organized by system. One device stands in for a whole shelf of retro consoles.
Built for long sessions
The wide, comfortable layout has dual analog sticks and responsive shoulder buttons, which helps with PS1 games and long play sessions on the couch, a plane, or in the car. If you're deciding between handheld shapes, our comparison of vertical versus horizontal handhelds explains the difference.
A 4000mAh battery
The 4000mAh battery keeps you playing for hours on commutes, flights and road trips, and it charges over USB Type-C, so a phone or tablet cable works too. For a side-by-side look at battery capacity across handhelds, see our retro handheld battery guide.
Plug in a controller
The USB Type-C port also works as an external controller interface, so you can plug in a controller for a more home-console feel.
